Duolingo English TestのInteractive Listeningに新問題「Listen and Complete」が登場｜全3形式を徹底解説
kurakumo2025年7月、Duolingo English Test（DET）に大きなアップデートがあり、「Interactive Listening」パートに新しい問題形式が追加されました。
これまでは「Listen and Respond」と「Summarize the Conversation」の2種類でしたが、今回「Listen and Complete」が加わり、全部で3種類の問題形式となりました。
このアップデートにより、受験者には会話内容をより正確に聞き取り、文脈を深く理解するスキルがこれまで以上に求められます。

Interactive Listeningとは？【概要と特徴】
Interactive Listeningは、リスニングとライティングを組み合わせた形式の問題です。
2025年7月のアップデートまでは、以下の2種類の問題で構成されていました。
- Listen and Respond
- Summarize the Conversation
そこに今回、新しく「Listen and Complete」が追加され、全3種類の構成となりました。そのため、現在のInteractive Listeningでは、次の3つの問題形式が出題されます。
- Listen and Complete
- Listen and Respond
- Summarize the Conversation

【新形式】Listen and Completeとは？
どんな問題？｜2025年7月追加の新形式
「Listen and Complete」は、2025年7月のアップデートで新たに追加された「Interactive Listening」の問題形式です。
これまで文章で読んでいたシナリオを音声で聞く形式に変更になりました。
その内容を聞き取ったうえで、画面に表示される5W1H（Who / What / When / Where / Why / How）形式の質問に記述で回答します。
ただし、全ての英文を記述する必要はありません。あらかじめ用意された英文の一部が空欄になっており、そこを正しく補う形で回答します。
シナリオ音声は何度でも聞くことができ、さらに音声は途中で一時停止することもできます。リスニングに集中しながら、必要な情報を的確に拾い上げるスキルが求められます。
出題例と解説｜シナリオ音声の内容に基づいて答える
以下は、実際の出題形式をイメージした設問例です。シナリオ音声の原稿は画面に表示されず、音声のみが流れます。
You are a college student and you have come to the cafeteria at your college with a friend. Sitting at a table in the cafeteria by the waterside, you are talking with your friend about whether you should get a degree in physics or chemistry.
訳：あなたは大学生で、友人と一緒に大学のカフェテリアに来ています。水辺に面したテーブルに座りながら、物理学の学位を取るべきか、化学の学位を取るべきかについて友人と話しています。

ポイント
回答の際には、音声の中に出てきた単語やフレーズをそのまま使うようにしましょう。
言い換えを考える必要はなく、正確に聞き取って再現するスキルが重視されます。
時間配分に注意｜何度も再生可能だが「聞きすぎ」はNG
Listen and Completeの難しい点のひとつは、時間配分です。
このパートでは、Listen and Respondとセットで出題され、2つの問題をあわせて6分30秒の制限時間が設けられています。
Listen and Completeのシナリオ音声は何度でも再生できますが、繰り返し聞きすぎると、次の問題にかける時間が足りなくなるリスクがあります。
そのため、以下のような時間配分を意識しましょう：
効率的な聞き方のコツ：
- 1回目：会話全体の流れをざっくり把握しつつ、分かる空欄はすぐに埋める
- 2回目：空欄のある部分を意識して、必要な情報を集中して聞く
- 3回目：聞き逃しがないか最終確認
音声の一時停止を有効活用しよう
Listen and Completeでは、音声再生中に一時停止が可能です。
そのため、リスニングに自信がない方やDuolingo English Test受験の初心者の方は、この機能をうまく活用しましょう。
たとえば、設問ごとに音声を聞き、該当する情報が流れたタイミングで「一時停止」→「回答入力」といった使い方が効果的です。
ただし、一時停止に頼りすぎると時間が足りなくなるリスクがあります。そのため、まずは正確に聞き取ることを優先し、慣れてきたらスムーズに回答できるように練習していきましょう。
Listen and Respondとは？
Listen and Respondは、Interactive Listeningで2番目に登場する問題形式です。
この問題は、先ほどのListen and Completeで出てきたシナリオの内容をもとに、会話を進めていく形式です。受験者は「学生」という設定で会話に参加し、画面に表示される複数の選択肢から適切な発言を選びながらやりとりを成立させていくのが特徴です。
会話の始まり方は2パターン
Listen and Respondでは、会話の始まり方に2つのパターンがあります。
① 自分の発言から始まる場合
画面に複数の選択肢が表示されるので、その中から会話の流れに合った発言を選んで、会話をスタートさせます。
このときは、Listen and Completeで聞いたシナリオの内容を思い出し、自然な流れになるように選ぶことが大切です。
② 相手の発言から始まる場合
まずは、相手の発言（音声）を1回だけ聞きます。その後、表示される選択肢の中から、自分の返答として最も適切なものを選びます。
※注意点として、相手の音声は1回しか再生されないため、聞き逃しには注意が必要です。
選択を間違えても会話は進むが注意点あり
Listen and Respondでは、選択肢を誤って選んだ場合でも会話は止まらずに進行します。
もし誤った選択肢を選んだ場合でも、次の会話では正解の内容に基づいた音声と選択肢が表示されるため、ミスしても会話の流れを大きく損なうことはありません。
ただし、このあとに出題される「Summarize the Conversation（会話の要約）」では、会話全体の理解が必要になります。そのため、自分の選択が間違っていた場合は、次の発言に表示される正しい選択肢を確認して、内容をしっかり把握しておくことが大切です。
Listen and Respondの問題例を確認
ここでは、先ほどの「Listen and Complete」で使われたシナリオに基づいて、「Listen and Respond」の問題を見ていきましょう。

Listen and Respondポイント
Listen and Completeのところでもお伝えしましたが、時間配分には十分注意が必要です。
この2つの問題形式（Listen and Complete＋Listen and Respond）はセットで出題され、合計6分30秒の制限時間があります。
【時間配分の目安】
- Listen and Complete：約2分30秒
- Listen and respond：約4分
Listen and Respondの回答時間はおよそ4分ですが、会話の振り返りと要約の構成を考えるために、最後の20秒は残しておくのがおすすめです。
続くSummarize the Conversationでは、会話内容を見直すことができません。そのため、Listen and Respondの段階で、要約の構成を頭の中で整理しておけると理想的です。
Summarize the Conversationとは？｜会話内容を英文で要約する記述式問題
Summarize the Conversationは、Interactive Listeningの最後に出題されるライティング問題です。直前に取り組んだListen and Respondの会話内容を要約し、英語で記述する問題形式です。
この問題の制限時間は、75秒（1分15秒）です。
英語で文章を考えて入力するには、やや時間が足りなく感じることもあります。そのため、あらかじめ要約のパターン（型）を身につけておくことが大切です。
要約問題例の確認
今回の会話内容をもとに、以下のように要約できます。

I asked my friend whether a degree in chemistry or physics is better. My friend said that I should choose depending on my career goals and listed several career paths for both chemistry and physics but didn’t persuade me to lean towards one or the other.（46単語）
【日本語訳】
私は友人に、化学と物理のどちらの学位が良いか尋ねました。友人は、自分のキャリア目標によって選ぶべきだと言い、化学と物理の両方のキャリアパスをいくつか挙げてくれましたが、どちらか一方に傾くよう説得しませんでした。
要約問題のポイント
要約の目安は、40〜60語程度です。
画面上には、「今回の会話を要約してください」といった指示が表示されるので、会話の要点を押さえながら、英文で簡潔にまとめましょう。
特に以下のような情報を含めると、バランスの良い要約になります：
- 会話の登場人物
- 話題や相談内容
- 会話中に出てきた意見や提案
- 会話の結論や方向性
文字数制限はありませんが、実際に高スコアを取っている人の回答は40〜60語前後でバランス良くまとめられていることが多い印象です。
新Interactive Listeningの対策方法
「LIsten and Complete」は新しく追加された問題形式のため、まずは問題に慣れることが大切です。
